Baby Moses is a dream come true for TV presenter

Channel 7 Brisbane newsreader Kendall Gilding and husband Timothy Morgan have welcomed their newborn son Moses to their family after a “dream” birth experience.

Gilding said her “drug-free” birth was everything she had hoped for at Mater Mothers’ Private Hospital Brisbane, with Moses Timothy Morgan arriving on Wednesday (28 September), weighing 3.2kg.

“I was in active labour from midday and Moses was born in the shower at 3.04pm thanks to the team at Mater and Kindred Midwifery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology,” Ms Gilding said.

“It was my dream to experience the full feeling of labour and know the capabilities of my body.”

Ms Gilding said her eldest child Olive, 3, was “very excited” to be a big sister.

“Their first meeting was adorable, even if Olive seemed more interested in her gift from Moses, than her brother himself,” she said.

“Moses has been a delight from the moment he arrived. He doesn't have much hair but has the sweetest little button face like his sister did!”

Having arrived home from hospital on Sunday, Ms Gilding said she was excited to start the next chapter of motherhood with Moses and Olive.

“We've spent two nights at Mater feeling so supported and cared for,” she said. Then we had two nights at The Emporium enjoying the baby bubble with our boy.

“Olive spent a few nights with Timothy's parents while we settled into newborn life. It will be beautiful to be together in our family home.”

Ms Gilding said she chose the name Moses “long before” having children.

“Moses is a biblical name,” she said.

With one in five Queensland babies born at a Mater Mother’s Hospital, Director of Clinical Services Maree Reynolds said: “Mater Mothers’ Hospital wishes to support every family to experience the care of their choice when welcoming a new addition to the world,” Ms Reynolds said.
