Baby names we loved in 2019

Just like that, blink and the New Year has well and truly begun! But what a big year 2019 has been for everyone at Mater Mothers’. Let’s take a minute to reflect on the year that has been, and congratulate all of the wonderful families that grew last year.

At Mater Mothers’ in 2019 we welcomed 4,925 gorgeous baby girls, and 5,547 beautiful baby boys to the world, bringing the grand total to10,472 .

Interestingly, there were more boys born at Mater Mothers’ than girls last year. According to researchers at McCrindle, around one in ten Australian newborns were given one of the top ten baby names.
