Location and parking information

Mater is committed to offering accessible car parking facilities for the convenience of patients and visitors.

Parking is available for patients and visitors in the Mater Hill West Car Park, via the Water Street entrance. This car park is reserved for patients and visitors only. Parking is also available in the Hancock Street Car Park. These multi-level car parks are automated, which means patrons are required to pre-pay for parking before exiting. For your convenience, several pay stations are positioned throughout all car parks.

Parking ticket options

Daily Parking Ticket

These tickets can be obtained on entry to any of the Mater's multi-story car parks. Payment will need to be made before exiting at one of the automated pay stations. You can also pay with either Visa or Mastercard at the exit gate. The cost of parking is displayed on entry to the car park.

Five Exit Pass

The pass holder can exit five times within two months of purchasing the pass. Each exit is valid for a maximum of 24 hours from the time of entry. You will need to take a ticket at the entry gate and then present to the car park's Customer Service Centre to exchange the entry ticket for a five exit pass.

Five-Day Multi-Pass

The pass holder has unlimited entry and exit to the car park over five consecutive days from the time of entry. You will need to take a ticket at the entry gate and then present to the car park's Customer Service Centre to exchange the entry ticket for a five-day multi-pass.

Three-Day Multi-Pass

The pass holder has unlimited entry and exit to the car park over three consecutive days from the time of entry. You will need to take a ticket at the entry gate and then present the car park's Customer Service Centre to exchange the entry ticket for a three-day multi-pass.  

Parking attendants answer calls between 7 am and 8.30 pm Monday to Friday, and 8.30 am to 8.30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Calls outside these times will be diverted to security. Click here for general parking information and parking FAQs.

Public Transport to South Brisbane

By Bus

Mater Hill Bus Stop is on the Southern Busway. Buses run every 10 minutes to and from the city. The stop is on Stanley Street. Please contact Translink via 13 12 30 for further information or schedules.

By Train

Mater is a short walk along Stanley Street from South Bank Station. Please contact Translink via 13 12 30 for further information or schedules.

By taxi

There are several taxi ranks within the Mater campus.
