Handy dad Damien welcomes third baby in time for Father’s Day
Friday 4 September 2020
Damien had planned to celebrate Father’s Day this year at Mater Mothers’ Private Townsville, as he and wife Ammy were scheduled to have a caesarean on Thursday 3 September 2020.
Though baby Huntley had other ideas, arriving a week early on Wednesday 26 August.
“Being our third child you would think we would have been prepared, but Huntley surprised as all and arrived early via emergency caesarean!” Damian said.
“The feeling of holding your baby is just as amazing the third time as it is the first. Especially after Huntley’s unplanned surprise arrival.”
Parents Damien and Ammy have welcomed all three of their babies at Mater Mothers’ Private Townsville.
“The rooms are really nice, the food is really great and we really appreciative of the support from the midwives,” Damien said.
Things are pretty busy at home now for Damien and Ammy, with three kids under four.
“Feeding, bathing and chasing the other two around is a pretty full-time role for me right now—but I love being a dad and wouldn’t change it for the world,” Damien said.
And these three kids are lucky to have a handy dad, celebrating Father’s Day this Sunday playing by with dad in the cubby he built them in the backyard.
“I built the girls a cubby and they have a swing set, so we will probably spend some time on Sunday outside playing together,” Damien said.
