Parenting Support Centre has moved!

Have you heard the exciting news? Mater Mothers’ Parenting Support Centre has moved to bigger and brighter location. They’re now located on level 3, Potter Building Annex, Mater South Brisbane. The move comes after renovations were recently carried out at Salmon Building, allowing for an expansion of the Emotional Health Unit on level 7.

Mothers' with babies up to six months of age born at Mater Mothers' Private Brisbane, Mater Mothers' Private Redland or Mater Mothers' Hospital can access the centre. Self-referrals are also welcome. The Mater Mothers’ Parenting Support Centre offers parents a variety of options to address early parenting concerns, including access to:

  • specialist doctors who will assess the unique needs of mother and baby and develop an individual care plan specific to your needs
  • lactation consultants to provide breastfeeding support
  • midwifery and child health nurses for feeding, sleep and settling advice
  • psychology for emotional wellbeing
  • as well as specialist allied health support in a variety of areas including:
    • physiotherapists to support lactation
    • psychologists
    • social workers
    • speech therapists
    • occupational therapists
    • dietitians. 

Patients who have made appointments with Mater Mothers’ Parenting Support Centre will now need to visit the facility at the other side of the campus. The centre is best accessed via Annerley Road if walking; however you can navigate the campus from the various designated drop-off zones and the Water Street car park (P4).
