Patrick and Shari’s story

When things don’t quite go to plan when you have your baby, it’s reassuring to know your supporting midwives are right there and know exactly what to do in an emergency – as Patrick and Shari found out after baby Daniel’s birth.

“We delivered our child at Mater Mothers’ Private Redlands and had the most wonderful pleasure of being assisted, over the subsequent days, by several of your midwives. Kirsty and Lauren were two of your amazing midwives have stood out in our memory and we believe they deserve recognition for their impeccable bedside manner, professionalism, knowledge and skills.

It was quite clear to us that Kirsty and Lauren absolutely love what they do and they both showed genuine interest and love towards our newborn boy.

Kirsty was the unfortunate member of staff who had to put out an emergency call to our room and coordinate the treatment when my wife collapsed in the shower in convulsions.
She reacted with extreme diligence and professionalism and without her there I don't know what would have happened.

Lauren was extremely friendly and knowledgeable for such a young midwife. She took extra time with us to show us useful techniques and helped us when my wife started deteriorating emotionally.

Both of these midwives are an absolute credit to your hospital and are part of the reason that we will be recommending all of our friends deliver with you!”
