Mater Mothers welcomes our 10,000th baby for 2019

Mater Mothers welcomes our 10 000th baby for the year, baby girl Paige. Born on Saturday 14 December at 36 weeks to parents Ranee and Ben, she arrived just in time for Christmas!

Paige was welcomed by her three older brothers and sister Jackson, Louis and Grace have travelled all the way from Emerald in Central Queensland.

“We had a complicated birth with Grace so we wanted to go somewhere we knew we would be in safe hands, so we travelled here to Mater,” Ranee explained.

The family were in safe hands with their Obstetrician Dr Stephen Cattanach and Paige arrived safely with the help of Dr Alex Alexander

“Paige arrived and has been so perfect. She is happy, healthy and already the new favourite for her siblings who keep taking it in turns to kiss and cuddle her,” Ranee said.

Medical Director Mothers Babies Women’s Health, Dr Mike Beckmann, said every birth was a special occasion at Mater, but particularly being the 10 000th baby born for the year.

“We are thrilled to have reached this important milestone, especially in time for Christmas, and we wish the family all the best,” he said.

“We are very proud that so many Queensland families trust Mater Mothers as their maternity service and we feel privileged to share in many precious first moments.”
