A family holiday at Emporium

A family holiday at Emporium

Cameron and Angela have made the journey from Chinchilla to Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane for the birth of all three of their children. However, the birth of their newest addition, Addison, has been extra special.

When told about Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane’s new luxury support offering Mater Moments at Emporium, the couple thought ‘why not’.

“The Emporium Hotel South Bank ticked all the boxes for us,” Cameron said.

Offering eligible families an opportunity to enjoy two nights in a luxurious, quiet, spacious river-view hotel room while having access to a Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane midwife 24/7, for Angela it also meant she was able to spend time with her two children Oliver and Aria, and make the birth of Addie a little holiday for the whole family.

“We had booked other two kids and their grandparents into a hotel nearby so they could still be a part of the experience. The plan was for them to come and visit us in the hospital and then go out and enjoy themselves in Brisbane,” Angela said.

“But being able to choose Mater Moments at Emporium meant we could stay together as a family, and not be confined to a hospital room. The kids absolutely loved it. They didn’t want to go home!” Cameron added.

Being able to go on a luxurious vacation isn’t always an easy option for the family due to the demands of their farm in Chinchilla.

“We are stuck to the farm, so it’s been so nice have a little family holiday. It’s been awhile since we have had the opportunity to stay somewhere so fancy,” Angela said.

“It’s so dry at the moment, it’s pretty tough. We never stop. So it’s been nice to have a little break,” Cameron said.

Ultimately though, knowing there was a midwife on hand was the deciding factor for Cameron and Angela.

“I probably wouldn’t have felt so confident about choosing this option if it weren’t for the midwife being nearby for support,” Angela said.

“She came and weighed Addie in the morning, and also checked my attachment was all okay. It’s been really nice to have that extra support.”

Cameron and Angela feel so lucky they have been able to have this experience.

“The three of us had such a good sleep and that just wouldn’t have been possible in the busy hospital setting. It’s probably been a little bit too nice, I felt a little bit too spoilt,” Cameron said.

“If you’re feeling confident I would 100% recommend it,” Cameron said.

“Especially anyone that has had to travel to Brisbane and wants to spend time with their family,” Angela added.

For Cameron and Angela, Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane was their only hospital of choice when it came to having their three children.

“Everything has been great. We wouldn’t go anywhere else to have a baby,” Cameron said.
