Baby Ava checks in to Emporium Hotel

One of Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane’s newest families Kate, Sam and baby Ava have just spent their first night at Emporium Hotel South Bank and the reviews are in!

The Mater Moments at Emporium Hotel South Bank is part of The Caring Continues options for mums and families who choose to go home sooner than expected.

Mum Kate said it was quiet and relaxing in the hotel surrounds.

“We took a little walk down the street into South Bank with Ava and we’ve also been up to the pool area,” Kate said.

“We just took the pram, sat in the cabana and it was so relaxing to be outside - glad it was just us.

“This morning the midwife came and did the baby check which was really lovely and we’ll do a bath in the afternoon – it’s been amazing,” she said.

Dad Sam was amazed with their first night in the hotel.

“We’re just pinching ourselves at how wonderful our experience has been in hospital and now here at the hotel,” Sam said.

“Last night the midwife came and sat quietly with Kate and just talked and it was really personal.

“I’ve used the gym and texted my mates telling them how good this place is and they said ‘yeah that’s awesome, just don’t tell my wife!” he laughs.

Kate agreed.

“Everyone is going to want this! It’s so amazing!” she said.

Kate and Sam were excited to be the first family to visit the Emporium.

“The whole experience has made us feel so special from the hospital, the ride in the car to the personalised welcome note with the macaroons in the room. We’ve felt so comfortable and supported here knowing there’s a midwife right there if we need her,” Kate said.

“We absolutely recommend it to all families who are thinking about it and hope they enjoy their stay as much as we have,” she said.
