Educational videos now available

Did you miss seeing us at this year's Pregnancy Babies and Children's Expo, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in June? Want to know more about pregnancy, breastfeeding or baby handling from the experts who know best? Check out our new educational videos. 

Mater Obstetrician Dr David Moore, lactation consultant Susan Childs and physiotherapist Jenny Wockner each delivered an educational session to mums at the Expo and we have the videos to share with you.

Breastfeeding 

Lactation consultant Susan Childs provided new/expectant mothers with up-to-date breastfeeding information to prepare them for, or assist with, breastfeeding their baby. The session included information on baby-led attachment, feeding cues, how to know if your baby is getting enough, cluster feeding and growth spurts as well as answer your questions on breastfeeding.

Baby Handling  

Mater Mothers’ physiotherapist Jenny Wockner shared her expertise to encourage baby’s optimal physical development. She shared baby handling and development tips including picking up, holding and playing with your baby. She also touched on some body awareness principles behind how to sit and support yourself while nursing. The session finished with some tips and tricks for baby massage. 

Pregnancy

Mater Mothers’ obstetrician Dr David Moore provided pre-conception advice, tips for surviving the nine months and advice for keeping both mum-to-be and unborn baby happy and healthy.
