With a holistic approach to maternity care, Dr Rod Allen focuses on the medical, as well as psychological; emotional; and social issues affecting his patients. He believes in supporting women in choosing the best and safest option for them for their current pregnancy, whether that be a vaginal birth, a Caesarean or a vaginal birth after a caesarean (VBAC).

Dr Allen operates a wholly independent, private practice with after-hours back-up if required. However, he delivers 97% of his own booked patients. Dr Allen believes every pregnancy, birth and child is different and as, such he provides one-on-one-care to all his patients, and treats them with a high level of individualised care. Personally, as a father to five children (all born at Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane), he knows first-hand how different they can all be!

Drawn to the dynamic and rewarding nature of obstetrics, Dr Allen feels privileged to be part of a family’s journey into parenthood.
