“I believe in a woman’s autonomy in making decisions regarding her birth, and understand the value of informed decision-making, and supporting care to improve outcomes for mothers and babies no matter how she gives birth.” - Dr Petrina Duncan
Dr Petrina Duncan offers a knowledgeable and holistic approach to a woman’s care, priding herself on providing a high level of care in a supportive environment. She supports all birthing options, including vaginal birth, caesarean, vaginal birth after a caesarean (VBAC), and water births. whatever option her patients MAY choose, she loves journeying with them through their pregnancy and birth.
Dr Duncan has worked in a tertiary centre for most of her training, and has previously spent 6 months in a Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit and an obstetric medical unit, giving her experience in both low and high-risk care. She works alongside a team of midwives who see her patients twice during their pregnancy, as well as offer six-weeks postnatal care.
As a mother to three children and a stepmother to four, Dr Duncan believes her own experience of pregnancy, birth and parenthood, gives her a greater level of knowledge and understanding of what her patients are going through.
