Location and parking information

Mater is committed to offering accessible car parking facilities for the convenience of patients and visitors.

Patients can only be dropped off and picked up at the Oxford Street entrance; parking is available via this car park. Roadside parking is also available along Oxford Street and the streets surrounding the Hospital. Clearly marked disabled persons parking spaces are also available at the entrance. Please be aware of parking restrictions.

Public transport

By bus

Mater Mothers' Private Townsville is accessible via Sunbus. You can access the timetables for bus services on the Sunbus Website.

By taxi

Townsville Taxis are available to provide you with door-to-door service. You are able to make your booking online or by calling 131 008. If you require a wheelchair taxi, please request this on booking.

Visiting Hours

At Mater we recognise the importance of visiting your loved ones at times that are convenient to you. We encourage family and friends to visit patients between 8 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm, seven days a week.

Please note, to ensure patients have adequate rest and recovery periods, we promote a rest period between 1 pm and 3 pm.
