The Caring Continues

Our Caring Continues options have been designed to offer support, and a little luxury, for Mater Mothers' Private Brisbane mums. We want your stay with us and journey home, to be safe, comfortable and as smooth as possible by providing exceptional support.

We've created two packages to choose from which you can enjoy either in the comfort of your own home, or at the luxurious Emporium Hotel South Bank.

If you are considering choosing one of our Caring Continues options after the birth of your baby, you meet the eligibility criteria and your doctor agrees that both you and your baby are well enough, you may choose one of the following options to help you settle into family life comfortably.

What our mums have to say...

“It’s just been so nice having quality time to bond with Hugo before going home. Raymond and I have had time to reconnect with each other and also spend time with just Hugo.” Hannah

“Staying at the Emporium was a treat. I was able to order food and have it delivered and not have to do the washing and ironing and look after the kids straight away. It was a really nice way to ease my way back home.” Danielle

“The whole experience has made us feel so special. We’ve felt so comfortable and supported knowing there’s a midwife right there if we need her. We absolutely recommend it!” Kate

Helping Hand at Home

Settling into family life can be easier said than done, so we’d like to take care of some of the little things that make a big difference. The Helping Hand at Home option includes:

  • a $200 Coles Myer voucher (to help with some of your new family needs).

Available to mums and babies who are well enough to be discharged from Mater Mothers' Private Brisbane on day 3 (or day 4 for caesarean birth).

If you’d like to choose one of our Caring Continues options, please talk to your doctor or midwife as soon as possible. You can also speak to our team on 07 3163 1782.

Frequently asked questions

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for The Caring Continues options, you need to be insured with, or change your insurance, to a private health fund with coverage that permits this (currently: Medibank, BUPA, HCF, AHM, and those funds part of the Australian Health Service Alliance) and you and baby need to be well and discharged by your obstetrician and paediatrician earlier. The Caring Continue options, including Mater Moments at Emporium, are not available to women who booked with Hatch Private Maternity after Thursday 27 October 2022.

If you have questions surrounding eligibility, please contact our team on 07 3163 1782.
