A wave of light throughout the world
Each year all around the world on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day, candles are lit to honour and remember a baby who has died. The result is a wave of light around the world.

At Mater Mothers' Hospitals, we are very fortunate to celebrate the joy of new life but unfortunately, among the joy there is sadness for those families whose pregnancy has resulted in loss.

At 7 pm on Friday 15 October, Mater will host our annual Wave of Light ceremony to compassionately remember, acknowledge and support those families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or baby in the last year. Each year all around the world at this time, candles are lit to honour and remember a baby who has died. The result is a wave of light around the world.

You are also welcome to interact with our Mater Mothers' Bereavement team by commenting or posting photos of your candles in our Facebook event
