Midwifery Group Practice celebrates ten years

Mater’s Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) team proudly celebrated their tenth birthday on Sunday 13 November. Over the past decade the MGP team have helped bring more than 5500 babies into the world. Over 100 MGP families joined the team at a family picnic at Orleigh Park, West End to celebrate.

Mothers, Babies and Women’s Health Services Directors, Maree Reynolds  and Dr Mike Beckmann, paid tribute to the midwives who formed the first MGP who continue to be a solid foundation and role model for all midwives.

“I wish to sincerely thank every midwife who is and has been a part of MGP for their dedication to the care of women and families. Through your midwifery skills, expertise, collaboration and passion MGP has gone from strength to strength. I also acknowledge the medical staff,  midwives and nurses across Mater for their support, collaboration and teamwork in the success of MGP,” said Dr Beckmann.

“It is a privilege to be part of the lives of women, babies and families and we particularly thank the women and families who have been part of and inspire this exceptional collaborative model of care,” said Maree.
